Get YOUR voice heard at national level

29/01/2014

IF you are keen to get your patient voice heard at a national level then this could be just what you’re looking for....

The Patient and Public Voice Assurance Group (PPVAC) is seeking to recruit a new Chair and up to eight panel members.

The PPVAG, which  is an NHS England committee and is accountable to the NHS England Specialised Commissioning Oversight Group England, puts the patient and carer perspective at the heart of commissioning, including working together on plans, advising, and offering constructive challenge.

PPVAG focuses on a strategic oversight of patient and public input as well as looking across the services commissioned within the five programmes of care: Mental Health; Cancer and Blood; Trauma;  Internal Medicine; and Women and Children.

The Chair will provide leadership to the group enabling it to fulfil its strategic purpose; and to ensure effective relationships within the group and between the group and partners and stakeholders within and beyond NHS England

Members will have previous experience of giving a public, patient or carer perspective on health services and a strong commitment to maintaining a patient focus in the commissioning of health services

There will be an honorarium of £150 per day (for those people not supported by organisations) for an estimated time commitment of 24 days for the Chair and 10-12 days for Members.

The closing date for applications is midday on 19 February 2014.
